SCDOT “On-Call” Contract for Environmental Permitting Services
Tidewater Environmental recently won the South Carolina Department of Transportation’s “On-Call” Contract for Environmental Permitting Services. Highlighted services covered under this contract include: field investigations, field surveys, jurisdictional determinations, critical area determination, 404/401 permitting, navigation/CZM/critical area permits, environmental documents, interagency consultations, and other related services. This is the second time that Tidewater Environmental has held this contract vehicle with the SCDOT.
SCDHEC Environmental Lab Certification
Tidewater Environmental was recently certified by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) as a laboratory to perform taxonomic work for freshwater and marine/estuarine macroinvertebrates (Lab Certificate No. 10590001). This certification enables Tidewater to collect and analyze freshwater and marine/estuarine macroinvertebrates samples related to environmental quality evaluations and as required by SCDHEC or which will be officially submitted to SCDHEC for regulatory compliance. As a certified laboratory, Tidewater is also able to provide macroinvertebrate assessments as a component of the baseline and performance standard monitoring required by the Interagency Review Team for compensatory mitigation plans or proposed mitigation banks.

Exemplary Human Environment Initiatives for Process Improvements
In 2010, Tidewater Environmental’s US Highway 17 Sweetgrass Corridor project in Mount Pleasant, SC was recognized by the FHWA as a program for Exemplary Human Environment Initiative (EHEI). EHEI awards outstanding examples of transportation projects that either create or improve conditions for human activities.
